I've heard good things about your kits from other posts on here and r/espresso. I thoroughly enjoy the problem solving aspect - and have seen most common problems more than once, but still get caught out by a new level of dumbness now and again, as most problems are just stupid (in the nicest way) and common mistakes ;-).

If anyone is considering a PID, I 1000% vouch for his. I'm just getting used to Reddit - and getting annoyed by the fact that I can't comment on posts as quickly as I'd like to. And my issues with the Vario are mostly around build quality issues mine had and the resulting inconsistent grind. (I also keep an old cheap Dualit/Starbucks conical grinder that I've modded, for decaf espresso - it's only for my wife who insists on a single shot drowned in milk, so I don't care what it tastes like!). My "daily driver" espresso setup consists of a Decent Espresso DE1+ with a Ceado E37S grinder. My gripes with the Gaggia are the slow/inconsistent temperature changes and the inability to steam and pull multiple shots without long delays. LIBRARIES. I think with all the covid shut down stuff going on, my purchase will be indefinitely delayed, but I see it as a must buy for consistent pulls on the classic, as so many others here have commented also. I've been meaning to buy one but haven't done it yet. Well, after much R&D and fiddling - I now have an easy way to change the Gaggia fixed OPV to 9 bar, and have put the parts required together into a small kit. Cheers Phil. Before I had the Duetto I owned a Classic for probably another 10 years.... we all start with a Classic, and then it's a slippery slope of upgraditus!
